dj 5ive's obsession with house music goes back to South Beach, 1997. There, he was a faithful follower of great dj's like Abel, JoJo Odyssey, Eddie X, and Bugie. His style is self-described as old-school Chicago house, with a touch of Latin flavor, and a few bitch tracks thrown in every so often for a little spice. dj 5ive only began using cds to mix in the past few years. If it were up to him, dj'ing would go back to the good ole days of vinyl. The entire process is very personal and cathartic for dj 5ive and it is truly an escape for him.

Currently living in New York City, dj 5ive spins every Monday nite at RuffHaus at The Cock in the East Village. He is still heavily influenced by the legendary producers such as Ralphi Rosario, Murk, Junior Vasquez, David Morales, Peter Rauhofer, Roger Sanchez, Frankie Knuckles, and Mark Picchiotti. dj 5ive is also a big fan of some of the hottest and freshest producers on the scene like DJ Paulo, Isaac Escalante, Angger Dimas, DJ Fist, Laidback Luke, and Tom Stephan.
